Technical consultancy and digital file preparation for a sculptural concrete element designed by estudio kmmk for Winkelhaus.
Our scope covered the interface between architectural design and robotic fabrication: converting the 3D scan of the studio’s handcrafted clay model into a fabrication-ready geometry, resolving it against the constraints of the Hollow-Core 3D printing process (HC3DP, ETH Zurich) while preserving the tactile qualities and imperfections of the original piece, and preparing the data delivered to SAEKI for robotic formwork production and to CREABETON for concrete casting.
