LISDEM is a Zurich based architectural studio established in 2011 by Laura Silva and Jesús Medina.
The studio develops precise architectural interventions, moving between housing, renovation, research, experimental design and consultancy. Based in Zurich, LISDEM connects Swiss practice with a broader international imagination.
Laura Silva studied architecture at ETSAS (with Honours) and at TU Wien. She has worked in Norway (NTNU), Austria, and Spain as a Teaching Assistant and architect. During this time, she has been awarded in various national competitions for exploring new ways of understanding landscape, design, and thinking. Over the past ten years, she has led large-scale projects in Switzerland. She currently focuses her practice on the rehabilitation and transformation of existing buildings and on mentoring young architecture firms.
Jesús Medina is an architect, researcher and educator based in Zurich with a strong background in Computational Design, Robotic Fabrication and Digital Manufacturing. He has extensive academic teaching experience at BSc., MSc. and MAS (Postgrad) levels, combined with professional architectural practice and research-driven design. His work operates at the intersection of computation, materiality and architecture.
