The renovation of the Grassenbiwak creates a compact, weather-protected structure between the existing shelter and the Wendenjoch summit. Designed for safe access even in deep winter, it blends seamlessly into the terrain while preserving the biwak’s identity as an autonomous mountain refuge.

A prefabricated timber structure, airlifted by helicopter and paired with a durable metal façade, ensures resilience in extreme conditions.
